The 4 paying ones are the Centre Pompidou at 9.00 euros for the combined ticket, La Concepción at 5.20 euros and 3.10 reduced, Gibralfaro castle at 7.00 euros or 10.00 with the Alcazaba, and the cathedral at 10.00 euros. None of them takes bookings for ordinary entry.
Opening hours matter for two of those. The Centre Pompidou runs 9:30 to 20:00 and closes on Tuesdays, with the last admission at 19:30. Where The Snow Girl was filmed, stop by stop
Javier Castillo, the novelist behind the series, was born in Mijas, and the adaptation moved to Malaga a story set in New York in the book. That decision is why the 14 locations stay inside one province, which makes this the only one of the four trails that works as a walking day.
Six of them are in the historic centre: Plaza de la Constitución, Calle Carretería, the Mapas y Compañía bookshop, the Paseo del Parque and Paseo de los Curas, the Palmeral de las Sorpresas in the port and the Centre Pompidou at Muelle Uno.
The other eight spread outwards: Plaza de Capuchinos, the Huelin park in the Carretera de Cádiz district, the Ciudad de la Justicia courts in Teatinos, the Auditorio Municipal at Cortijo de Torres, the El Palo neighbourhood and the beaches of Sacaba, La Araña and La Malagueta.
Two hotels and a bookshop you can walk into
Three of the 44 are businesses rather than monuments, and that changes what a visitor can do with them. The Gran Hotel Miramar on the seafront and the Hotel Málaga Palacio near the cathedral both appear in The Crown and both take guests, so these are the only two locations on any of the four trails where the answer to “can I go in” is a room booking rather than a ticket.
The third is the Mapas y Compañía bookshop in the centre, which appears in The Snow Girl and works ordinary shop hours. It is also the smallest location on any of the trails, and the only retail one.
That leaves a workable order for a single day:
- The 4 ticketed sites first, because they are the only ones with a closing time, and the Centre Pompidou shuts at 20:00 and not at all on Tuesdays.

The fourth trail, drawn up by the Andalucía Film Commission, is not about one production but one kind of scenery, and it lists 14 beaches along the province’s 160 kilometres of coast. The reason given for that coastline is the range of it, from wide open sand to hidden coves, plus mild winter temperatures that keep shoots running out of season.

Three of these already belong to The Snow Girl, which is why the 50 entries across the four trails collapse into 44 places: 39 of them appear in a single trail, 4 in two, and only La Malagueta in three. Reaching them without a car
The C1 commuter line covers Torremolinos and Fuengirola from the city centre, so two of the coastal locations need no car at all. Pedregalejo, Misericordia, Sacaba and La Araña are inside the city and reachable by urban bus.
Arriving from the airport works the same way, because the C1 starts there: the ride into the city costs 1.80 euros and drops you at María Zambrano and Centro-Alameda, a few minutes from six of the locations. One caution that belongs to this particular list: the Policía Nacional places pickpocketing in crowds rather than in particular streets, and its operations have centred on Cercanías platforms and carriages, which is exactly the train you will be riding to the coastal locations. The city’s own figures are 21.4 thefts per 1,000 residents against 44.3 in Barcelona, and the detail is in safety and pickpockets.
The problem is Marbella. The town has no railway station, and three beaches plus Puerto Banús sit there, which means the western end of the list needs a car or a coach. The train situation is set out in the C1 and C2 lines.

Málaga Film Office, the city hall unit that clears every shoot, keeps a catalogue of 520 productions from 52 countries, with the title, the director and the country of each one, and no address for any of them. Where Antonio Banderas filmed El camino de los ingleses
El camino de los ingleses, directed by Antonio Banderas in 2006 from a screenplay by the Malaga novelist Antonio Soler, whose book won the Premio Nadal in 2004, has the tightest trail of the four: 13 locations and 9 of them within the old town or its edge.
The shoot ran from late November to mid-February with rain machines standing in for summer storms, which is why the light in the film never quite matches the season it portrays.
