Christmas dinner in Málaga, the 24th, 25th and 31st
Booking a Christmas table in Málaga means three separate decisions, one for each date, each with a set menu and a fixed sitting. Children pay 40 to 75 euros, one hotel charges the full price if you cancel after 9 December, and a rooftop by the Cathedral includes 90 minutes of drinks. For Christmas Day lunch in the centre, Vino Mío's 120-euro menu is the one on offer.
Christmas in Málaga for couples, what to book and when
Sunset from Gibralfaro is free if you watch it from the viewpoint outside the walls, because the castle shuts first. Christmas Day is the tricky one for couples: museums close, but the Soho theatre puts on a Banderas musical at 19:00 and street concerts go on. A light trail is 17 euros for two. A one-hour harbour catamaran starts at 9 euros a head.
Christmas in Málaga with kids, Three Kings and free plans
Children in Málaga get their presents from the Three Kings on 6 January, so the best family days fall early in the year: the Royal Herald on the 2nd, the Royal Postman in Plaza de la Constitución until the 4th and the parade on the 5th. Most of it is free, the lights are cheap on half-price days, and under-3s go free to the garden lights and on the harbour catamaran.
Christmas in Málaga's villages, living nativities and migas
Want a Spanish village Christmas without hiring a car? Nerja's living nativity, with over 100 residents in costume, runs on the Sunday before Christmas and the last bus back leaves at 21:55. Antequera's free town nativity and Christmas House work on any December day, an hour inland. Torrox, about 7 kilometres away, holds its Migas festival on that same Sunday.

Malaga Christmas Lights, Calle Larios Show Times and Dates
Malaga's Christmas lights go on the last Friday of November at 6:30 pm on Calle Larios, and the light and music show then runs three times every evening, at 6:30, 8:30 and 10 pm, until 4 January. On 24 and 31 December and 5 January the lights stay on without music, and they are free to see. With a pushchair or small children, the 6:30 pm run on a weekday is the easiest.
Malaga Three Kings Parade, Route and Times on 5 January
Malaga's Three Kings parade is on the evening of 5 January: the Kings leave the Alcazaba, greet the city from the City Hall balcony and ride 13 floats along Paseo del Parque, the Alameda and El Perchel to the Cathedral. In 2026 around a thousand performers threw some 20,000 kilos of sweets to the crowds. EMT adds 20,000 seats and keeps most lines running until midnight.
